-Sulks.-

It's a beautiful Saturday afternoon but i'm confined to the 4 walls of my home *sulks* :(

Today should have been an activity-packed day BUT plans have been cancelled because i'm not well enough to leave the house. *grumbles* RAHS. Being a socially responsible citizen, *ahem*, here i am, facing a computer screen on a Saturday. ROARS! Was supposed to meet GH in the morning, the darling girls in the afternoon and Twinnie in the evening and camping over at Grandma's with cousins at night. But ALL plans have been cancelled -.- and i'm not very happy about it.

The costs of ill health.

Ahhh...Health Economics...

Okie just some little updates!

Tutorials have started for certain modules this week and the first tutorial i attended was for IT which i obviously had to attend on my own because CL got the class that was just before mine. Being terribly anti-social that day (classes started at 8am that morning -_-), i decided to plop myself right at the front (because most people were congregrated at the back). Haha after a while, i felt it was a bad move because it was a module that needed to form project groups!! Moreover, i already saw people staring at me when i decided to plonk myself on the chair nearest to the door as though i was eager to make the quickest exit, which was probably also true too. ROFL.

Anyhow, my loneliness didn't last for long. A guy decided to sit right next to me although i was sitting at the very first row of the whole class and said to me what i thought then to be the worst line he could say. "Hey! You look extremely familiar! Where have i seen you before?"

-_-"'

As it turns out, he was from the same JC, from the same batch, in the same faculty and was just a few rows to the left of my class when we used to line up for our morning assembly during that 2 years of JC.

So he decided to introduce himself in a rather formal manner, shaking my hand and saying "Please to meet you" and went on about something which i didn't quite catch. Me, being overwhelmed by everything, didn't say much but smile and nod. Hahaha, then at the end of his...erm...self introduction (??), he asked "Hey so what is your name? Ok wait, let me guess...is it Cherry?"

-_-"'

I was flabbergasted. I mean, CHERRY?!?! Wahahahah!

But he was one sociable chap. Let's just put it this way...there wasn't any awkward silences between us because there was no silence to begin with. ROFL. Naturally, we became group members because he said "Since we have each other, we better not break up." or something along that line. Yea, the choice of words was rather.. hahaha...strange. Hahaha you see, we needed a group of 3, and most groups had pairs, and obviously every pair was unwilling to "break up" to join another pair. Hence, his statement. To think he was a literature student before though. Chuckles.

Ooh the picture below was taken a couple of nights ago while on the swing..didn't quite capture what i wanted to be captured but the result turned out to be like a canvas painting! I think it looks really pretty. Whahaha and i actually dreamt about stars last night! I dreamt that i was walking home and the whole sky was filled with twinkling stars! ROFL! Maybe the medication is causing me so much drowsiness that i begin to see stars.

-...-

Appalled that things have reached this stage.

"Break off a bit of the sampan and float back to shore, dear. The shore is there, you'll see it sooner or later"

Can't you row me back to shore?

"No dear, you will have to go through this alone"

-New Semester..-

I'm home from school!! ^-^

It's officially the 3rd day of this school semester and i've attended only 2 lectures thus far as Tuesday lectures only start next week! Whoots~ As for now, i actually look forward to going to school but i wish time would slow down.. Hahaha.. i want to enjoy every single second i have left in university. Ehh..but i'm not going to start sounding nostalgic and all because i have no time for that! I shall cherish whatever time i have left here and create more memorable memories!!

Today's lecture was Econs and despite it being an 8am lecture, the class was full! Daryl, Charms and Lix crashed the lecture and it turned out to be a mini reunion. We took up about half a lecture row in the center portion?! Stella, CL, Charms, Daryl, HW and...oh dear... I forgot his name...AGAIN!! -_-"' I took a couple of modules with him and i don't seem to ever remember his name. (Dan's forgetfulness is really infectious!! =.= ) Gosh.. HAHA the only thing i can relate him to is Ouyong (oh however it is spelt...) The best thing is that he actually has a Christian name but i just can't seem to remember -.- Anyway, i think Friday's lecture will really be a gathering. Almost everyone seems to be taking it! Hahaha, within our group at least.Whoots~~
Lix should just have taken it with us this sem! Then it will be terribly enjoyable!

Today's lecturer is one of my favourite lecturers of the department. Yeaps! He always prints notes for us! RAHAHAH! A very fatherly figure. Looking forward to a great sem with him! I had a great sem with him..2 sems ago, methinks?! Hopefully this will be another one!
Ooh and thanks Daryl for lugging a jacket back for me!

Monday's lecture was also very interesting! At least for the first half! HAHAHA! In the second half, Twinnie was happily smsing away while Joe was staring at some soccer reports on his computer screen -.- Oh we had to fill in a form and one of the questions asked "Why did you choose this module?" Goodness.. i had no answer to that. The only reason why i took it was because Joe asked me to. Moreover, Twinnie was also going to take the module! And since i was desperate for modules, i just took it with them! Any modules with Twinnie will be fun! ^-^ But i think Joe's a bit left out because he complained that when i'm with Twinnie, we seem to ignore the world..aka..him. ROFL!

Anyway, it looks set to be an exciting semester!! No doubt it'll be busy, tiring and stressful, things will turn out fine in the end. Whee! Because we have each other!! You aren't alone! Have faith and Chin up people! YOSH!!

Ohh CY!! Hope you are settling down fine there?! Keep in touch and take care!! Hugss!

-AWESOME DAY!-

Started the day with DimSum buffet in Excelsior Hotel. Entered the restaurant ravenous and were ready for rounds and rounds of DimSum that we all loved! Most unfortunately, these 3 girls stopped only after 1 pathetic round. And we didn't even manage to try everything on the menu in that 1 round! What lousy buffet eaters we make!! -.- People like us help sustain the buffet business.

The trio were too busy laughing and chatting over food to take any picture of a single dish. In short, the table was piled with DimSum baskets and plates full of food! Thanks to Lix's recommendation! She even made a reservation for us! We were like TaiTais who went to have food at a restaurant together after we woke up! It was a nice environment all in all and our photo taking sessions made the short outing terribly hilarious and memorable! AAHHH! Times like these make us forget our fatigue and the total lack of sleep.

WHooTS~ My favourite picture of the day!!

WAHAHAHA! These are my 2 buffet mates of the day! I shan't post any picture of the anatomy of Lix's face. I still get a shock seeing the pictures. ROFL!

These were pictures from the interview session...

This was my expression caught on camera, methinks, when Lix suddenly asked me that startling question. How come the other interview pictures are so nice but mine is so candid!?!
HAHAHA. After the interview, an extremely interesting conversation followed which there were many shocking discoveries and realisations of people's misunderstandings and ability to jump to conclusions. OH MY GOSH. It was the shock of my life. I think i must have been squealing too loudly while we were walking towards the station when the revelations were made. Yikes! Let's just keep it within the 3 of us, yea?! Wheehee^-^
With bloated tummies, we parted and i had to rush down to Chinatown to meet Twinnie for a shopping session for our Chinese New Year clothes. However, as recent meet ups have turned out to be, we spent all our time talking that we didn't find anything to buy. We even got chased out by a shopowner for chatting in her shop!

Hahah after which we just walked round aimlessly and got lost in Chinatown. And twinnie! We were that busy yakking away that we didn't even take a single picture! A first!! HAHAHA!

It was soon time to meet the rest and we absolutely had to rest the aching feet after the miles of walking. TADA~~!! Though Wen's is across the continent at the moment, we still have 8 people in our group pictures! Our extremely friendly ex-teacher-in-charge joined us for dinner and our crazy photo taking sessions!! WHEEEE!!! You can't even spot who's the teacher right? She blends in with us so well!

ROARS! The wind!!!

Spot the 2 scandalous people...

The public show of affection...

The illegal immigrants? Drug addicts? Depressed kids? ROFL.

You see! Our super duper friendly teacher actually joined in our crazy shots!

As i was walking alongside JTan, she said that she was pleasantly surprised and touched to see and know that we still bothered to keep in touch with each other despite our busy schedules and being a rather big group. The fact that we bothered to celebrate each of our birthdays together moved her! What shocked her about our ability to get along and spend time with each other was that we were all from different classes! HAHAHA i just didn't tell her we bonded because we went through heaven and hell together during those exco days.

But then again, i couldn't speak for all so i just told her that i personally felt it was nice to know that no matter what happens, it was comforting to know that i still have a group of friends to go back to and depend on ^-^

Today has been an exciting day packed with activities, laughter and food! ARGH!! But as we're starting school next week, this sort of lifestye is drawing to a close..

-我累了-

我累了。

真的好累, 好累。

Many things have happened during this period that have caused the body and brain to work excessively for a holiday season. In the process, the other (most) vital organ in the body seemed to have gained quite a few pounds -.- More often that not, the organ and brain doesn't quite agree with each other. Hmm.

Holidays are to be carefree, and carefree it was.

Amidst the outings, meetups and fun, the sky is slowly overcast. Fatigue sets in. Perhaps i should turn off my phone while i'm sleeping. How many times during this holiday have i been awakened by the sound of the vibration of my mobile phone? Just this morning, it happened again -.- And the first sentence i heard after "Hello?!" was "did i just wake you up?!" And the very amused laughter over the other end of the line followed. Why do my friends wake up so early!? ARGH. Despite having just woken me up, he went on and burdened me with all the codes and descriptions of the modules..what a great start to the day. I only had 4.5 hours of sleep, my dear friend -.- Okay i'm banging on the fact that he doesn't find his way here so yea, i'm complaining.

Grace without sufficent sleep is an extremely grouchy Grace! Grace needs alottt of sleep. But she's not that disciplined with her bedtime. Her bad. RAHS. Friends around her please knock her out when she's still online late at night. ROFL.

Recently, i've been discussing with a couple of friends about habits and how easily we form habits. When the routine suddenly changes, it takes some time to adapt to the new routine and disengage ourselves from the emotional attachment to the old routines. The dependence and over-reliance on people, on things and the familiarity of routines just instill inexplicable fear. Fear that someday these patterns will change. Ever so abruptly. The emotional disengagements will prove to be a challenge. With the disengagements, there will come more emotional confusions. Mmm.

So... During this period of bidding frenzy, it suddenly dawned on me that this could be the last time i will be able to grumble about the bidding system. Ironic isn't it?!

BLEH. I'm tired. I just need an outlet of frustration. Please ignore me. And why am i still not sleeping? Because i can't find enough modules to take. OH MANN.

-AH-lliance!!-

WHEEE!!!! FINALLY! Finally we managed to have full attendance and meet up!! Thanks to cy's careful planning! Lunch at Din Tai Fung!! Super good xiaolongpaus!! SLURPS! ^-^

The first 3 months clique whom went through many hilarious and unforgettable experiences together!! The reminiscing of the events had me banging the table and chortling with laughter with sides hurting so much! What fun times we had!!!

We were a really naughty bunch of girls! Always skipping classes! But then again, who actually dutifully attended lessons during 1st 3 months?! HAHAHA! But that wasn't all. We actually got caught for skipping classes and had to come up with the most amazing stories ever to get away with the punishments!! But i shan't reveal them here for fear of it backfiring, or if other people learnt and use the same ideas, they'll never work for us again! Not that we need them anymore..right?! WAHAHAHA! Ask me if you're interested in all the stupid things that we did together. HAHAHA i'll be more than willing to share!

Our super nice desserts! Didn't manage to get the picture of the "free" cake though. WHAHAHAHA! Obviously the cake wasn't complimentary but this is a private joke which never fails to crack me up! ROFL!

The words below really encapsulate the times we spent together. But we should really change the word "friend" to "friends". From the pig outs... the grandstand days... the public changing days (ROFL!)... the anti-social days... the rehearsal days...the dancing days... and the list goes on! OH Geri! Do you remember that time we joined some Entrepreneurial Club thingy?! And we had to source for sellers?! That was fun too!! And met some really nice seniors!

We're all turning 22 and the days of doing 'stupid things' together are not over. Ooh we even relived our younger days and took Neoprints! WAHAHAHA not without causing such a racket that when we finally left the booth, all eyes (according to Ma Py) were on us =.= These are the shots we took in the booth with the camera. The neoprints should not be seen by other people other than the moustache one. ROFL!

HAHAHA! Now do you understand the stupid things that we do together?!

A more sane picture after the screaming, shrieking and shuffling!

WHHEEE!! The group picture before sh and ys had to leave :) The next time we would all be able to meet up again would be many months later because cy will be leaving Singapore :( And Cy is the closest friend to me in the whole group! AHHHH!!

Oh talking about sh, she's planning to get married when she graduates! Congrats girl!!! Whoa, she has already found a life-partner and i'm still bumming around. HAHAHAHA! When will i ever grow up?!
Whheeee! In a nutshell, today has been terribly fun. I laughed and screamed so much that i seem to be losing my voice -.- HAHAHA! I miss those days that we laughed without a care in the world...

-Weekend!-

This weekend was fantabulously F-U-N!!!

I meant to blog about yesterday last night but i was so tired when i returned that i didn't even have the extra energy to turn my computer on. Yes..but it wasn't even as though my activities were of high energy consumption. On the contrary, i don't seem to moving as much as usual. ROFL! It's just chit-chat sessions. Gosh, i can really talk -.-

Anyway, i finally met up with cindy and kf yesterday afternoon!! Joel was busy as usual and only joined us in the night. We tried to do some shopping but when you're on the tightest budget ever, window shopping isn't any much consolation either. So we decided to just sit down and talk. I seem to be doing that so often recently. Just go out and hang out somewhere to talk. But thanks to kf who treated me to Dark Cherry Mocha which was my second cup of the day! Heehee the first one was by some nice guy in Holland V. Explains why i was tossing and turning in bed though my body was screaming for some rest. I had 2 cups of mocha in one day-.-

But listening to kf talk is so amusing. I wonder when to believe him..But yea..It was fun and entertaining. For dinner, we met up with Joel and the rest! It was full of fun and laughter and food!

And Cindy actually baked a mango birthday cake for gm!! We are such cheapskates. We have no money for presents so we end up always making stuff for people. HAHAHAH! But then again, sometimes it costs even more than buying the stuff since we have to add in the opportunity costs on top of the material costs. But i always feel making and baking your own stuff adds a kind of value to the gift that can't be calculated monetary wise. Agree?! HAHAHA.

I'm waiting for the other pictures to be sent to me because i only took this picture for the whole night. HAHAHA! Dkf was like the paparazzi, snapping unglam shots of me eating!! But these people are terribly camera shy i tell you! ROFL! But trust me, they are all good looking people. They just don't want to flaunt their pretty and handsome faces. They don't have to pose for photos, unlike me. ROFL! They don't have a specific angle that they like to be photographed. They can do silly faces at the camera and still look good. ROARS! Envy~~~

HAHAHA and witnessing friends' stories unfolding before me can be a very interesting affair that i'm honoured to be allowed a part in. So many of them are unfolding at the same time that i worry i might get certain details mixed up. People's lives are somehow just more exciting then my own. Hurhur.

Whoots! I took eons to finish this entry! Goodness Gracious. JC gathering tmr! WHEEEE!! :)

-Goodbye 2008! Hello 2009!-

WOW.
2008 came and gone.
It's already 2009.

WARNING!! This post will be unlike the other normal posts you'll see in this blog. It might be mildly depressing and thought-provoking for some. Unless you're ready for my long and otherwise uninteresting post on my reflections of the whole of last year, you're welcome to leave right now with no hard feelings :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2008 had its share of ups and downs but i'm generally happy with how i lived 2008 ^-^ I can't think of anything in 2008 i would like to change even if i was given a chance to. I believe all that has happened, happened for a reason and is His will.

Thank you to everyone in my life. Yes, i really mean EVERYONE.
It includes...
those who love me..
those who trust me...
those who laughed with me...
those who shared happy times with me...
those who lent a listening ear when i'm down...
those who offered a helping hand when i've fallen...
those who gave endless encouragement when times were rough...
those who offered me their shoulders to cry on when i needed support...
those who pushed me down when i tried to stand...
those who have caused much distress...
those who have hurt me...

Every single one of you contributed to what i am like today. So i'm sincerely thankful for what you have did for me and to me. It has moulded my character and i believe i have emerged stronger and more matured :)

And please don't get me wrong. When i included people who have caused me emotional hurt, it was not done out of spite or hate or anything of that sort. I have already forgiven and found peace in God. I understand that it's precisely because of these people that it indirectly helped me to grow and recognise who are the people whom i can really trust.

At the same time, through trials in life, God gave me good friends who stood by me. And i'm thankful for all these angels in my life. A simple msg of concern, a hug, or even a simple sentence like "i'll support you" or "i'll always be here for you" radiate so much warmth and love that it makes me glow from all the happiness.

But a special mention would be to my family, especially my parents. I am so blessed! Words cannot express the gratefulness and love i feel towards them. There are times when i am not in the best of moods that i actually vent my anger on my parents despite their good intentions to speak to me. After which i'll be too proud to apologise :(
But thank you Dad and Mum! Thank you for bearing with all my tantrums and trying so hard to make our material life as comfortable as possible. Thank you for always making an effort to spend time with me and the family despite being so busy with work. Thank you for always making an effort to know what is going on in my life. Though i don't always agree with your styles of parenthood, i understand all these is done out of love and concern. I LOVE YOU STILL! =D

And to those whom i might have hurt, I sincerely apologise.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2009 will be a blast. I just know it. HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS! It'll be a better year for all :)
