You sit on the bus thinking you know where to alight even though you have never been to the place before. You have heard about it and that should be sufficient. You are enjoying the journey and most of the time, you feel this is the right path. However, as it nears the stop you initially planned on alighting, you look around. Apprehension fills you. Doubt seeps in.
The bus reaches the stop. You hesitate. Is this the stop I want to alight, you wonder. In that moment's hesitation, the doors closed. The bus driver decided to move on. You look ahead and realized the previous stop was where you wanted to go.
But this road is a one-way street. There is no U-turn.
