This week is going to be another week of pure torture. The weeks get progressively worse! I'm up to my neck with work and once i finish the week's worth of work, i see another stupendous mass of things that are to be processed by me -.- ROARS!!!
Submitted one essay which was due today. It seemed to take forever to write it! And i'm not done for the week's worth of assignments! Presentation, another essay and mid term test for just this week alone! Not to forget the impending project deadlines!!! AAAAHHHHHHH! Somebody save meeeeeeeee!! The number of essays and presentations i've done this sem alone has far exceeded the total that i have done in all my sems here, methinks. RAHS~ But everyone's facing similar crunches at the moment so i shall spare anyone the agony of listening to my complains.
Anyway, the movie after our lunch today was great!! A timely rejuvenation where i could just laugh at the silliness of it all. That's the beauty of film, music and stories isn't it?! You escape into another person's world and immerse yourselves into other people's lives whose lifestyles you don't live, and experience things you do not experience for yourself :) A temporary escape from reality which people all love to experience. Hence, the evolution of popular culture!
Whoots~ But beyond the laughter and all, i walked away from the show with 2 rather important lessons! Hahahaha!
Firstly, there are times that individuals do not know exactly what they want for themselves. They think they do but when they obtain something they THOUGHT they yearned for, the happiness that they derive is almost transient. In doing so, they neglect the important things in life. It is only up till the point they are about to lose it that they realise the importance of certain things/issues in their lives that they initially took for granted or overlooked.
(Such a common theme in movies...Yet how many people actually keep it to heart and practice it?! Ooopss...I, for one, really need to commit it to memory and practice it!)
Next, people really got to live their lives for themselves and not for others. Expectations of people and from people, and expectations of ourselves may eventually become a source of pain.
So....We ourselves don't really know what we want.
People (ie like your parents and friends) also do not know what you want. So what now?! Who knows for sure?!
And that's why we pray :)
